Ingredients

  • For the Pineapple Layer:
  • 1 ½ cups fresh pineapple chunks frozen for a thicker consistency
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp honey or agave syrup optional for sweetness
  • 1 tbsp lime juice optional for extra tanginess
  • For the Strawberry Layer:
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced (or frozen for a thicker slushie)
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp honey or agave syrup optional
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice optional for a zesty kick
  • Optional Garnishes and Add-ins:
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Extra slices of pineapple and strawberry for a decorative touch
  • A splash of coconut water or sparkling water for added fizz
  • A sprinkle of lime or lemon zest for an extra citrus burst

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Fruit Start by preparing your fruits. Hull and slice the strawberries, and chop the pineapple into bite-sized chunks. You can opt for fresh or frozen fruit, depending on the texture you prefer for your slushie. Frozen fruit will give you a thicker, more icy slushie, while fresh fruit offers a lighter texture.
  • Step 2: Blend the Pineapple Layer Next, take your pineapple chunks, ice cubes, honey or agave syrup (if using), and lime juice (if using) and blend them together until smooth and creamy. If the mixture feels too thick, add a small amount of water or coconut water to help the blending process.
  • Step 3: Blend the Strawberry Layer Now, blend the strawberries, ice cubes, honey or agave syrup, and lemon juice (if using) in a separate blender or the same one after cleaning. Again, blend until smooth and creamy. Add a little more liquid if needed to reach the desired consistency.
  • Step 4: Create the Swirl The fun part comes next—layering and swirling the two fruit mixtures together! In each glass, alternate spoonfuls of the pineapple and strawberry mixtures, creating a marbled, swirled effect. For an even swirl, use a straw or spoon to gently mix the layers. You should have a beautifully layered drink with a perfect blend of pineapple and strawberry.
